My idea for a solo para...
So here's what I've done, and keep in mind I have never farmed before (I started gw w/ para [and only halfway thru missions]), I have no way to test the build out (yet), and it's my first build post. I am, however, a pretty smart guy, so feel free to compliment me as well.
P/W
1. Soldier's fury [elite] - 5e
2. Finale of Restoration - 5e
3. Blazing Binale - 5e
4. They're on fire - 10e
5. GFtE - 4a
6. Watch Yourself - 4a
7.
8. Glowing Sig
Attributes: not sure, but def lots in leadership and motivation, while tactics and command should stay pretty minimal. Spear mastery?
Summary: Build focuses on dmg reduction and healing triggered by shouts to survive while IAS from elite, burning, and criticals will hopefully provide enough dmg to kill things. I think the first three skills should be used first on self while spamming 4, 5, and 6 (the shouts) as much as possible to trigger the first two skill effects. Glowing sig takes advantage of burning enemies to gain much needed energy due to lack of allies. I didn't have my heart set for any particular skill in slot 7 so i'll leave it empty.

I tried this multiple times, yet it didn't work for me
I've found a build working like this that is capable for farming FoW (click)
Other than that, what are you planning to farm with this build? I mean, trolls would scatter, forget smites in UW (Shield ;(, tried it also...didn't work, killed the darknesses tho). Undead army might be an option, I say give it a try.

Thx Milan. All I have is Nightfall, and I was hoping to make a build to farm the few paragon uniques around kourna and vabbi (I'm not at desolation yet). Bah! If only I had my comp to try it out myself and fix it!
So this scattering thing...do all creatures do it?

Yeah, it has to do with area of effect (commonly: AoE) damage. When there's a lot of it, repeatedly, over a short period of time - say, from something like an elementalist's rain of fire, or some of the necromancer curses - one or more of the enemies will get away from the source. A single burst or three won't do it, but the small damage-every-second kind will.
